The City of Edwardsville is coordinating with Mission of Moms to collect items for active military. Items being sought are beef jerky, gum, deodorant, personal hygiene items, wet wipes, drink additives, sun block, trail mix, nuts, power bars and other healthy snacks.
Items will be delivered at the Veteran’s March on Saturday July 4th. Assembly and registration of marchers will begin at 4:30 p.m, at the City Park at the Ryan Garbs Gold Star Monument. The walk will begin at 5pm. The walk will proceed to the American Legion. Participants are asked to bring donations of the above items in a backpack for the march. March will led into dinner time activities at the legion. Each participant will receive a patriotic wristband, giving them access to a special VIP seating area at the Edwardsville American Legion. Participants will also be given American flags to carry during the march.
For those unable to walk, donations can be dropped off at the American Legion on the hill.
