New and like new Shoes – Boy Scouts – Drop Off New Bethel Church

soles4souls
25,000 new and like new shoes needed. Boy scouts are collecting at New Bethel Church.

At the very core of Scouting is Community Service and helping other people at all times.  To further that mission, the Lewis & Clark Council in Belleville is partnering with Soles4Souls to conduct a used shoe drive on September 11, 2014,  the National Day of Service. Glen Carbon Boy Scout Troop 34 will be collecting shoes in an effort to support their Council’s shoe drive. Anyone wishing to donate can drop off new or slightly used shoes anytime up until September 8th at New Bethel United Methodist Church at 131 North Main Street in Glen Carbon from the hours of 10-2 pm M-F. The Council’s goal is to collect 25,000 pairs of shoes. All shoes collected will be refurbished in 3rd world countries to help create a micro-economy and returned to benefit youth in need right here in our area!  For questions or for more information you can email Troop 34’s Treasurer at ctownr@hotmail.com or the church office at office@newbethelumc.org

Collection Connection is your go-to website when you are ready to unload something you’ve been collecting but just don’t know where to go with it. The concept is simple: connect organizations who are holding a collection drive with people who can do the collecting. Old cell phones, prom dresses, Christmas lights, pet supplies… the list goes on and on. Instead of adding your stuff to a landfill, check Collection Connection for a drop off location where your items can be recycled, repurposed or reused!
